CADdoctor for Autodesk Simulation 2018

Autodesk Inc., a world leader in 3D design software for entertainment, natural resources, manufacturing, engineering, construction, and civil infrastructure, announced the release of CADdoctor for Autodesk Simulation 2018, is the ultimate desktop application software for 3D data translation, PDQ (Product Data Quality) validation, repair, and transformation. CADdoctor supports highly precise and reliable data translation among multi-CAD as well as strict PDQ validation and automated or guided geometry repair functions.

CAD Doctor has long been a staple in a Simulation Moldflow Insight users process, specifically for easily fixing or modifying CAD geometry to make it suitable for meshing.

The following updates have been included in CADdoctor for Autodesk Simulation 2018:

New Functionality

- Clip Box
You can adjust the location, size and rotation angle of Clip Box to show only the area of the model that you are interested in. This is effective when you are working on the interior
components of complex models. To show only the elements of interest, and hide the surrounding model elements, click View
- Extend Face and Trim
This function makes it easier to repair models with free edges. You can extend and trim the specified faces towards a "target face" that you specify, until the faces intersect each other.- Divide Faces by Intersection
This function is also used to repair models with free edges. You can divide faces that intersect with other faces at the intersecting line.
- Specification changes
Export Geometry as NURBS in UDM is no longer supported. Instead, save the healed geometry in your Moldflow Insight .sdy file
